Whether you’ve always wanted to strum a ukulele, make colorful pom-poms, try your hand at 3D printing, or create something amazing with our Glowforge laser cutter, we’re here to help you explore.
Our Library of Things is filled with creative, practical, and absolutely delightful items you can borrow to discover a new hobby, learn a skill, or simply satisfy your curiosity. Our Innovation Station offers hi-tech equipment you can reserve and learn to use right here at the library, with staff available to help you get started.

Items that can be checked out:

  • Ukulele: 7 day loan for patrons ages 18+ or children with an adult cosigner. Check out call number 787 for ukulele books!
  • Portable Piano: 30 day loan for patrons ages 18+ or children with an adult cosigner. Comes with an instructional booklet.
  • STEM bags: 30 day loan. They contain nature identification books, journals to record findings, and more!
  • Telescope: 7 day loan for patrons 18+ or children with adult cosigner. Check out call number 520 for astronomy books!
  • Portable DVD player: 7 day loan for patrons 18+ or children with adult cosigner. A great option with our DVD’s for a long car ride!
  • Pom-Pom Maker: 30 day loan. Check out call number 746 for ideas!
  • Hand Looms: 30 day loan for patrons 18+ or children with adult cosigner. Includes instructions and supplies.
  • Board Games and Card Games: 2 week loan for patrons 18+ or children with adult cosigner. Choose from multiple different options.
  • Karaoke Singing Mic: 2 week loan for patrons ages 16+.
  • Community Sketchbook: All ages! Check out our community sketchbook for 30 days and contribute your own art.
  • VR Goggles (for iphone): 2 week loan for patrons ages 16+
  • Book Boxes: 30 day loan. Each box includes a book and a craft or an activity to correspond with the theme.
  • Seed Library: Take some seeds, leave some seeds! We have plenty to choose from 🙂

Items that can be used in house:

  • 3D Printer: If you would like to learn how to use our 3D printer, you can schedule an orientation below. If you would like a specific item printed, you can select from the items on display at the library or bring in your own file to have it printed. We recommend the website Thingiverse.com if you are looking for a place to get started. The cost for 3D printed items is $1 per hour of printing.
  • Glowforge Laser Cutting Machine: The library has a Glowforge Pro HD that we recieved through an AARPA grant. It has the capability of cutting and engraving multiple kinds of materials, including wood, metal, acrylic and cardboard. If you are interested in learning how it works, you can use the button below to schedule an orientation. If you would like a specific item created, you can schedule an appointment with library staff to let them know what you would like done. You must provide your own material, and it must be compatible with the Glowforge.
  • Cricut Maker 3: The Cricut Maker 3 can cut over 300 materials including paper, fabric, leather and more. It can create stickers, cards, cut out quilt blocks, and cut vinyl for ironing on clothing or using on materials like mugs and laptops. You can schedule an orientation with a staff member by clicking the link below. If you prefer to have us cut out your items, you can schedule an appointment to let us know what you would like done. You must provide your own materials, and they must be compatible with the Cricut Maker.
  • Canon imagePROGRAF PRO-1100 Printer: This printer is designed with professional artists and photographers in mind. It utilizes a 12-cartridge LUCIA PRO II pigment ink system to produce gallery-quality prints with deep blacks, a wide color gamut, and exceptional longevity of up to 200 years. If you would like to have photos or prints made, please contact the library at 603-269-3000, or stop by and speak to a librarian. You must provide your own paper or photo paper. Prints are $1 each.
  • Electronic Snap Circuits: Electronic Snap Circuits are educational electronic kits that use solderless, snap-together components to teach circuitry and engineering. Parts are color-coded and attach onto a plastic grid, allowing children and beginners to safely build functioning devices like radios, alarms, and fans without needing tools or soldering. These items may be used in house by patrons ages 14+, or by younger children with adult supervision.
  • Small Electric Kiln: The library has a small electric kiln capable of firing small items like figurines and mugs. You may drop an item off with library staff to be fired. You must use a kiln safe clay (we recommend purchasing from Dick Blick) and items must be completely dry before being dropped off. We cannot guarantee the item will not break during firing.
  • Desktop Computer: Just visit the circulation desk for a code to log in! Must be 16 or older, or have parent/guardian permission on file.
  • iPad with Magic Keyboard: The library has several iPads with Magic Keyboards and Apple Pencils available for in-house use. Must be 16+ or have adult permission on file.
