The Barnstead Banner

Welcome to OFML, the home of the Barnstead Banner!

The Banner is a local newsletter produced monthly by a group of generous volunteers and published by the Oscar Foss Memorial Library.

If you are interested in submitting an article, classified ad or event to the Barnstead Banner, please see the following guidelines:

The Barnstead Banner is dedicated to providing positive and uplifting news about the town of Barnstead. The objective of our newsletter is to educate the community on local events, highlight the great things happening around town, and focus on the accomplishments of our community members and organizations.

We welcome submissions for our feature articles each month that follow these guidelines.

Submissions for feature articles should be:

350 words or less in length
Accompanied by a photo whenever possible
Must be about Barnstead or surrounding area
Please send to Danielle@oscarfoss.org no later than the 15th of the month

Submissions for Events should include:

Date
Time
Location
Organization hosting event
Contact information
One or two descriptive sentences
Please send to Danielle@oscarfoss.org no later than the 15th of the month

Submissions for Classifieds should include:

One or two descriptive sentences
Contact information

The Banner is run by a group of dedicated volunteers out of the Oscar Foss Memorial Library. In order to keep the newsletter manageable in its early stages, we have decided not to accept opinion pieces or letters to the editor at this time. Space constraints, timeliness and relevance are all factors when we are considering an article for publication. Submissions will need to be received by the 15th of the month in order to be considered. We reserve the right to edit and cut as needed. The Banner’s editorial team will contact you within a week of submission if we are able to use your material for the newsletter.
